Mario Marenco (1933–2019) was an Italian architect, designer and actor. He graduated in architecture from the University of Naples and also worked in Stockholm and Chicago. As a designer, he is best known for the Marenco sofa for Arflex (1970) and other iconic pieces of furniture.
On television and radio, he made a name for himself as a comic actor in *Alto Gradimento*, *L’altra domenica* and *Indietro tutta!*, playing characters such as Colonel Buttiglione. He died in Rome in 2019, leaving his mark on both Italian design and the performing arts.
