Our history

When we founded our interior design studio, La Californie, we wanted to pay homage to the Malaga genius of Picasso, who identifies us so much, by adopting the same name as his studio house on the Côte d'Azur.

Today, La Californie not only works in Spain, but also has major projects all over Europe, including Portugal, Italy, France and England. From the refurbishment of an 18th century palace to an estate in Portugal or a family home in Italy, full of great works of art or design pieces.

From a creative workshop in Madrid de los Austrias to a New York-style penthouse in Chamberí. The hallmark of La Californie is very personal and eclectic; influenced by various currents where contemporary trends coexist with classic styles and canons from around the world. The international background is reflected in all our works. Each project is a story with a unique and unrepeatable thread.

During the last fifteen years we have been distinguished with various awards, such as the Spanish, French, Italian and German editions of Architectural Digest, which includes them in the list of the 100 best interior designers in Europe (AD100 International). (AD100 International).

In our multidisciplinary studio-workshop in Madrid we create unique atmospheres with iconic pieces of 20th century and contemporary design that we masterfully mix with antiques from all periods, with an unmistakable personal stamp.
