Paolo Venini (1895-1959) was an Italian entrepreneur and designer who was instrumental in the revival of Murano glass.
He was born in Cusano Milanino and, after studying law and serving in the First World War, he turned to the world of art. In 1921, together with Giacomo Cappellin, he founded the firm Vetri Soffiati Cappellin Venini & C., later renamed Venini & C. Under his leadership, the company stood out for its combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern design.
He collaborated with figures such as Carlo Scarpa, Gio Ponti and Fulvio Bianconi, achieving international recognition.
His legacy made Venini a worldwide symbol of Italian art glass.
