Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) was the Danish architect and designer who defined the aesthetics of Scandinavian modernism, fusing rationalist functionalism with organic forms inspired by nature. Trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Jacobsen achieved worldwide fame for his concept of the «total work of art», where he integrated architecture with interior design down to the smallest detail, as seen in the iconic SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. The creator of legendary pieces such as the Egg, Swan and Series 7 chairs, his legacy lives on as a benchmark of timeless elegance, structural simplicity and meticulous attention to detail that revolutionised 20th century industrial design.
